The Shooters 3, Piccolo 1

The Piccolo Grande Gelatoheads entered a brand new phase in their storied Hockey history last night as they took on "The Shooters" (very original name) in the OMSHL. That's right the "Ottawa Men's Senior Hockey League". They left the GOHL, "Goofy Old Hock a LoogieLeague" behind for the smoother ice offered by the OMHSL.

Coming to a theatre near you, the Comedy of the year "The World According to Gilbert". 2 bums up !

The game started off well for the Ice Cream boys as they took advantage of a couple of early penalties taken by their opponents and cashed in on a goal by the Duckman Steve Mallard on a brilliant cross ice feed from Terry "Tman" Pearce. However the Gelatoheads ran into some penalty trouble of their own and found themselves down 2 to 1 going into the 2nd period.

Piccolo had chances in the 2nd period but couldn't find the back of the net while the Shooter's added one more goal on a short rebound off a wrap around to put the game away.

All in all the effort was evident but there was just a little lacking in the execution department.
