Round 31 - October 3, 2000 - Loch March
Well, back at the Loch but this time with first time golfer (actually second round ever) Fred Cassaramona. We had a 9:56AM tee off and I ended up being a little late and rushed so no time for a warm up. We were paired up with the two Jim's, Big Jim and Little Jim who played off the blues while we teed it up off the whites. Fred did O.K. for a cold start on #1 and took a 10. I wasn't much better taking a 7 after putting my second shot in the water and three putting. We both bogeyed #2, but Fred's wheels started to wobble on 3 and 4 taking 9's on both, then an 11 on #5 and the wheels came right off on 6 where he took a 16! Freddy went out with a 79 and I a 48. The two Jims looked good on the front but I didn't get their scores. The back was about the same for all of us. Freddy came in with a 78 and I a 48 for respective totals of 157 and 96. Big Jim had an 89 while little Jim took only 78 shots on the round. Freddy didn't hit any fairways or greens and took 46 putts. I hit only two fairways, 6 greens and took 31 putts with two penalty strokes. My moment of Zen came on the 342 yard par 4, 4th when I dinged one 285 yards and actually hit the fairway. One of those days it'll all fall into place and I'll come in with a 72!
