Round 30 - Sept. 22, 2000 - Rivermead
What started out as a sunny day at 7am soon turned cloudy by our 9:52 tee off at one of the Ottawa areas best tracks. I was very fortunate to be invited out by George Bradie the owner
of the Dunvegan Pub in Sandy Hill. He also allowed me to bring a guest so Steve "The Mallard" Allard tagged along. George teamed up with a business associate "Ronnie", an older
fellow, with a typical older fellow, straight as an arrow, 220 yard drive. I think he hit every fairway.
The Rivermead is a private club in Aylmer, Quebec, it plays 6544 off the blues, 6212 off the whites, with respective ratings and slopes of 124/71.3, 121/70.1. A beautiful layout on a
beautifully maintained property.
We had an open track for the whole round and played the front in just over two hours. George was scoring so I don't know how everyone played. I went out with a 48 and if memory
serves me correctly Stevie had a 46, and both Ron and George has 43's. I played a bit better on the back coming in with a 45 for 93. Stevie came in with a 47 for 93. I don't know what
George and Ronnie took on the back but I'm sure they both finished well under 90. I putted well taking only 30 putts but I only hit 3 fairways and 4 greens and took two penalty strokes.
I took a quad on #7 and triples on 9 and 18 to give me an adjusted score of 92. Tomorrow's another day!
