Round 29 - Sept. 20, 2000 - Les Vieux Moulins
Back to Les Vieux this time with Steve "The Mallard" Allard and the latest addition to the P.G. Hockey team Dave Gloss. We decided to play for skins. Steve having a 15 handicap had to give Dave (18) and me (21) 3 and 6 strokes respectively. The front was rather uneventful with all of us playing very average golf. I took a quadruple on #2 to go out with a 51. Steve had a 46 and Dave a 45. Dave took 6 skins and I took one with the last two carried over to the back. The tenth was tied again but Stevie took eleven to grab 4 skins. Steve took two more skins on the back and I grabbed 5. I came in with a 49 for 100, Dave took a 50 for 99 and Stevie, 42 for 88. I hit 5 fairways, six greens and took 35 putts. My moment of Zen came on the 461 yard, par 5, 18th. It's a beautiful hole with a long water hazard starting 220 yards out and running 80 yards down the left side of the fairway, bordered by a waste bunker. I pulled out the Butler and smacked a beautiful draw 296 yards curving gently and landing just past the end of the hazard in the light rough. Too bad I took a 7 on the hole!
