Round 25 - August 31, 2000 - Champlain
We opted for the power carts. It was just too hot. But you know what they say "It aint the heat ..." This would prove to be a great day. We had Steve "The Mallard" Allard out (15 handicap), Paul Labelle, a soccer dad who I met last year, and an old clubland pal Chris Publow. We decided to play team match play. I teamed up with Paul, we are both about 18 handicap, and Chris teamed up with Stevie as Chris is probably a 26 or so. After Stevie did a bit of quick math, he determined that we would have to give up about four strokes. We were back and forth on the front until #8 where they went up two and then went up 3 at the turn. We clawed our way back on the back, and by 14 had drawn even. Their wheels slowly began wobbling and they were in trouble. We took 15, 16 and 17 tying 18 to win 2 up. It was great. Chris ended up with 112, Paul 95, me 92 and Stevie 85. Great fun and a great day!
