Round 24 - August 29th - The Gatineau - sunny w/ clouds 24 degrees (32 with humidity)
Well patience is a virtue, and I am virtuous. I knew it would finally come and today was the day. I finally broke 90. I had a coupon for 2, given to me by the owner
Stan Brigham, so I took my buddy Johnny out. I've played Johnny about 10 or 12 times in the last 3 years and I've only beat him twice. Today was #3. The
Gatineau would be classed as a muni. course. There's no irrigation so the fairways are rock hard (rock being the operative word) but the greens are in great shape. I
was breaking in a new driver, a Butler. It was a gift from a business associate in California who was responsible for marketing the Butler brand. It worked well! I
went out with a 42 birdying #5 and parring 3, 7 and 9. Johnny didn't fair so well going out with a 49. Johnny redeemed himself on the back coming in with a 40. For
a total of 89. I came in with a 45 for a total of 87. I hit 11 fairways to Johnny's 9, 4 greens to John's 3. We both took 33 putts. I had 3 penalty strokes so it could
have been an 84! Shoulda Coulda Woulda!
