Round 18 - August 3 - La Bête - 20 degrees sunny w/ clouds
After playing Le Diable yesterday it was a pleasant surprise to have the opportunity to play another great course in the Laurentians. La Bête is Gray Rocks' new
course. It has slopes of 128 off the blues and 124 off the whites with respective ratings of 71.4 and 68.7. I got teamed up by chance with 3 men from Ottawa. A
lawyer, an accountant, and a high level executive, all in their mid fifties. How convenient!
I started out with a triple on the 325 yard par 4. It didn't really matter though as the course is so immaculately maintained and the setting is so picturesque, I didn't
really care how I scored. (see photos) I played quite well on the front going out with a 47, that included a triple and a quadruple.
The back wasn't so kind even though it was gorgeous. I came in with a 59. I took a 12 on the par 5, 11th. A 6, on the par 3, 12th, a 6, on the par 3, 17th and a 9,
on the par 4, 18th. I had two 5 off the tees and one 3 off the tee. I took 34 putts, hit 4 greens and only hit 5 fairways. I also missed 4 birdies. I had a gross of 106
with an adjusted score of 99. But you know what, it didn't matter, I'd go back again in a second.
